I can safely say this is the first time I’ve ever cried and blogged at the same time. As I sit here in typing, I’m very aware of the fact that I can say and do whatever the fuck I want on this site and odds are, no one’s going to show up with an AK-47 and murder me. Up until this very moment I have wholly taken that for granted.
It’s hard for me to even talk about what happened at the Charlie Hebdo offices in Paris today without revealing what many would consider to be the depths of my madness. In my own defense, our collective acceptance of the way the world is seems far more mad to me than my own radical beliefs. Over the holiday, everyone was all stoked about gas prices being so low and on more than one occasion I opened my mouth to encourage everyone not to trust this. “First the gas prices are gonna drop, then there’s gonna be a rash of terrorist attacks, then before the media can even come up with a proper branding scheme we’re going to be in World War III and gas is going to be $11 a gallon but it won’t matter because we’ll all be dead soon enough.”
Now I’m swallowing my words hard because I’m so very afraid that this is exactly what’s going to happen. Last time gas prices crashed this hard in the US was in 2008 shortly before the financial crisis. In the US, the wealthiest 1% captured 95% of post-financial crisis growth since 2009. That’s right – the market crash wholly worked out for the reptiles. It’s estimated that approximately 85% of the world’s wealth and resources is controlled by 300 individual people, it is my belief that those people will do absolutely anything to maintain that control.
Whether or not this attack was just the real deal or part of the “New-world-order-conspiracy, man” I have no idea. All I know is the more separation there is between us, the more we hate and blame each other for everything that’s going wrong out there, the easier it is for the so-called reptiles to tighten their grip. The real enemy are the people profiting from the perpetual cycle of war, disease and social conflict – the proletariat has to stick together, the next world war will be against us.
