Hey Y’all! Good news – I’m not dead. Better news! We have the opportunity to elect a President who isn’t brought to you by Time Warner and Monsanto, I’m talking about our boy PLURnie Sanders of course. He knows what’s good, and so do we. The question is WTF are we going to do about it?
I can’t speak for you, but I’ll speak for me – I can’t keep writing about rave gossip and how much I wish the Americanized version of dance music would grow up already when we have the opportunity to a elect a candidate like Bernie who actually represents our community’s interests. I believe I speak for a generation of disenfranchised Millennials when I say I don’t vote, don’t even know where to begin to give a fuck, and am much more likely to know the Coachella lineup front to back than I am to know where any candidates stand on the issues. What to do when giving a fuck is so daunting and it seems like none of it matters anyway?
BUT FAM! That’s the beauty of Bernie – 8 months ago he was polling at 3% and had no money. Now he’s neck and neck with Hill-dog for the Democratic nomination, WE DID THAT! We meaning actual human beings who resonated with the message and got involved. And it’s exciting as hell, not daunting in the least. And the results are measurable, our efforts have added up to real impact. Killer Mike of Run The Jewels inspired me to take it upon myself to educate and hype our community on Bernie Sanders – check out their EPIC interview below.
For the first time since the 1960’s, music is marshaling the forces of America’s youth in the face of the most sinister international conflicts since the Vietnam and Cold Wars. Like rock n’ roll and LSD, dance music and MDMA are opening up the minds and aligning the frequencies of everyone who seeks or happens upon the experience. This makes us a unified and empathetic community, or a bunch of degenerates wasting our lives depending on who you ask. Why not redirect some of the energy we spend dancing, listening to music and sharing memes, towards the candidate who believes in us? We can all be part of this!
Support Bernie and learn about the issues here and follow @RaveForBernie to join the grassroots effort in our dance community. If you’re feeling like giving a fuck about something like politics is simply too exhausting for you, just remember we’re essentially trying to elect a smarter, more reasonable Larry David. That should help.
